MAN 175D certified by 10 Classification Societies

In Frederikshavn (DK), from 22nd to 24th May 2017, under the watchful inspection of members from 10 different Classification Societies, the MAN 175D underwent a series of testbed operating cycles.

Running perfectly without any problems and exceeding all demanding requirements, the MAN 175D high speed engine proved its extreme endurance and operational stability. In doing so, the MAN 175D is now globally certified for marine propulsion (diesel-mechanic and diesel-electric) and genset applications with a power output of up to 185 kW/cylinder by the Classification Societies ABS, BKI, BV, CCS, DNV/GL, KRS, LR, NK, RINA and RS.

Having the target to meet our customer requirements most effectively, the serial type approval is another important milestone for the MAN 175D. It demonstrates its efficiency, durability and robustness – being ready for installation onboard.
